Plain language, no lawyer padding. If anything here is unclear, write to us and we will explain it.

The short version. Lumolingo is made by one independent developer in Italy. You can use it for your own learning, on up to three devices. Supporting the project is voluntary and is not a purchase. The lessons are ours; your progress is yours. You can delete your account whenever you like.

1. Who you are agreeing with

Lumolingo is built and operated by an independent individual developer based in Italy. It is not a company. Contact: [email protected].

By creating an account or using the app or website, you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.

2. Who can use it

You need to be at least 16 years old to create an account, or to have the consent of a parent or guardian. There is nothing in the lessons that is unsuitable for younger learners, but account and data rules make this the sensible line.

3. Your account

One account per person. Keep your password to yourself.
You can be signed in on up to three devices at the same time. Signing in on a fourth asks you to remove one of the others.
You are responsible for what happens under your account. If you think someone else has access to it, change your password — that signs out every other device.
You can delete your account and everything in it at any time, from the account deletion page.

4. Support, and what it does not mean

There is no card payment yet. The payment system has not been set up. Until it is, Pro and Premium access is opened by hand for people who support the project through Ko-fi.

This matters, so it is worth being exact about it:

Support given through Ko-fi is a voluntary contribution, not the purchase of a product or a subscription.
Extended access is offered as a thank-you. It is not a good or service you have bought, and it does not create a contractual entitlement to any particular feature.
Because contributions are voluntary rather than purchases, they are not refundable. If something has gone wrong — you supported by mistake, or access was never opened — write to us and we will sort it out properly.
If and when real card payment is added, these terms will be updated before it goes live, and normal consumer rights including the EU right of withdrawal will apply to purchases made then.

Prices shown on the site describe what the planned plans will cost. They are not an offer to sell today.

5. What is free

The first two lessons of every course are open to everyone. Lesson content, word cards and speaking practice remain free. We may change what sits behind support in future, but we will not take away access you already have.

6. What you may and may not do

Use Lumolingo for your own learning. Please do not:

copy, scrape, bulk-download or republish the lessons, the audio or the question bank;
share your account so several people can use one set of access;
try to break, overload or work around the technical limits of the service;
resell access, or present the content as your own.

If an account is being used this way, it can be suspended.

7. Who owns what

The lessons, the wording, the exercises, the audio recordings, the software and the Lumolingo name belong to the developer. You get a personal, non-transferable right to use them for your own learning, for as long as your account exists.

Your learning progress belongs to you. So does anything you type in.

8. The service will not always be perfect

Lumolingo is provided as it is. It is built by one person in his evenings, which means:

it can be unavailable, for maintenance or because something broke;
lessons can contain mistakes — if you find one, tell us and it gets fixed;
features can change, and courses are still being written.

We do not promise that using Lumolingo will get you to any particular level of a language. That depends on you.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer under Italian or EU law, or our liability for death, personal injury, fraud or anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.

9. Ending it

You can stop at any time by deleting your account. We can suspend or close an account that breaks section 6, or if we are required to by law. If we shut the service down entirely, we will give notice by email and you will be able to take your data with you.

10. Changes to these terms

These terms can change — most likely when card payment is added. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use Lumolingo after that means you accept the new version.

11. Law and disputes

Italian law applies. If you are a consumer in the EU, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of your own country and you can bring a case in your local courts. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
